Driver Dies After Crashing Car in Vintage Classic Race

 70-year-old Robert Hanneman, a driver participating in a race at Blackhawk Farms Raceway in South Beloit, died yesterday following a crash.

SOUTH BELOIT (WIFR) -- 70-year-old Robert Hanneman, a driver participating in a race at Blackhawk Farms Raceway in South Beloit, died yesterday following a crash.

Hanneman, who is from Burnsville Minnesota, was a driver in the Vintage Classic race at the Raceway. There were four laps left in the race and he was on turn seven when he lost control of his car and crashed.

Hanneman was then flown by helicopter to Rockford Memorial where he was pronounced dead.

The Winnebago County Coroner reports that Hanneman died due to blunt trauma to the head.
