ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- It could be awhile before we see any upgrades to three downtown Rockford venues. RAVE has yet to figure out how to spend the $4 million it got from the state. It’s part of a grant to improve the BMO Center, the Coronado Theater and Davis Park. Each venue's committee will figure out what changes are needed, which could include new lower level seats and sound systems at the BMO center. RAVE Chairman Mike Dunn says it's hard to narrow down which upgrades are most important.
Each of one of the 3 venues have, you know we've heard over the last 2 years, certain specific needs. of course it'll be local construction, local contractors will be doing the work and its all very positive,” Dunn said.
Dunn says a priority list will be brought before the finance comittee soon. He hopes to start construction in the spring.
