ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Rockford Public Schools’ Communications Department has received an Award of Excellence in a national contest for school public relations publications and media.
The award was based on the entry, Readiness Rocks, which was one of 125 winners in the publications portion of the competition, sponsored by the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA). There were 679 entries in the category.
The five-pronged Readiness Rocks initiative was rolled out by RPS 205 in January 2012 with the goal of making sure each and every student in the district is equipped for success, not just in careers or college, but for life.
The winning publication will be on display from July 7-10 at the NSPRA National Seminar in San Diego. The Rockville, Maryland-based professional organization is dedicated to building support and trust for education through responsible public relations that leads to success for all students.
