Discovery Center Holding Wacky Winter Workshops

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The kids will soon be out of school for their winter break, but that doesn’t mean it’s “tis the season” for kids to be without reason! The holidays are a great time to exercise the mind.

Discovery Center provides the perfect holiday mix…family fun, physical activity and even a little science! And December 26 through 30 Discovery Center will be celebrating winter with extra fun during its Wacky Winter Workshops.

With over 250 hands-on exhibits, holiday planetarium shows, special craft activities and live science demonstrations during the holidays, kids and adults will have fun and maybe even learn a little something about science. The extra activities will take place 11:30 am to 3:30 pm each day. Wacky Winter Workshop activities are included with admission to the Museum. Planetarium shows are $1.00 for the general public and $.50 for Discovery Center members. The Build It! Make It! exhibit will also be open through January 5 and is free for members and just $2 for the public.

Discovery Center will be open until 3 pm on Christmas Eve, regular hours (10 am to 5 pm) New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, but closed Christmas Day.
