ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A local organization celebrates a major milestone by making sure people with diabetes get the care they need.
The Cosmopolitan Club presented a $10,000 check to Crusader Clinic. The local chapter is celebrating its 65th anniversary, but for 20 years it's partnered with Crusader.
The Cosmopolitan Club is known for its fight against diabetes. In the last 20 years Crusader Clinic has been able to help hundreds of thousands of people manage the disease thanks to the clubs more than $450,000 in donations.
"It's hard work, but it’s a lot of fun. We're not a very formal club, we have 200 hardworking fellows that have a lot fun we go to cubs games, we like to do a lot of things for example we had a trap shooting even last week so we do a lot of fun things, but we do it in the name of charity," Cosmopolitan Club President Dr. Kris Tumilowicz, said.
The club also supports the Boy and Girl Scouts and First Tee of Rockford.
