Crundwell Appellant Brief Delayed

DIXON (WIFR) – Part of the appeal process for Rita Crundwell’s federal sentence has been delayed again.

Crundwell’s federal defender Paul Gaziano says the deadline to file a brief has been pushed back to the week of July 8th. This is the third time it has been extended.

The brief will explain initial arguments for appealing her nearly 20-year sentence. Also, a final forfeiture order was entered this week for Crundwell’s assets that were sold by U.S. Marshals.
That means the City of Dixon is one step closer to getting restitution of more than 10-million dollars. Crundwell was convicted of stealing nearly $54 million dollars from the city.
