Conservation Area Worker Dies in McHenry County

HUNTLEY, Ill. (AP) -- A worker has died after being run over by a piece of equipment at a northern Illinois conservation area.

The Northwest Herald reports the 59-year-old Marco O. Aguilar of Streamwood died Tuesday. The McHenry County coroner says Aguilar was working inside a maintenance building when he was struck by a vehicle being used to prepare and grade a concrete floor.

The accident happened at the McHenry County Conservation District's Pleasant Valley Conservation Area in Huntley.

Crews called to the scene Tuesday morning found Aguilar unresponsive and serious injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy found he suffered multiple injuries to the head, chest, abdomen and bones.

McHenry County Conservation Police, the McHenry County sheriff and federal authorities are investigating.
