ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The Jeremiah Development Community Garden on North Court Street is in full bloom.
The garden was started a few years ago by four area churches who wanted to give back to the community.
Many people in the neighborhood can't always afford to buy their own produce so this is a way for them to get free, fresh, healthy food to put on the table.
"People in the neighborhood have been really receptive and its nice, and we get kind of a different flow," said volunteer Jennifer Derricks. "Sometimes we have more people in than others but it's been really great to see the look on their face that they can just have these fresh vegetables."
The gardens started in 2010 with 10 beds and now have more than 30.
