BELVIDERE (WIFR) – The Community Cupboard, the Belvidere School District’s school-based food pantry, has been nominated to receive a $20,000 Walmart grant through its Fighting Hunger Together initiative.
Fighting Hunger Together is a national campaign where money is awarded to programs that get the most votes for their innovative and effective programs that help alleviate child hunger.
The public will decide what organizations will receive the grants through a Facebook voting campaign. The more votes the Community Cupboard receives, the better chance it has to receive the grant.
To help the Community Cupboard continue its mission of providing food assistance and promoting healthy eating habits to Belvidere School District #100 students and their families, vote once a day for the month of April at: http://apps.facebook.com/walmartlocal/?applet=hunger&organization=112&agency=2.
You must have a Facebook account to vote.
