SPRINGFIELD (WIFR) -- A big change in Springfield today. State Senator Brad Burzynski officially retired and a fresh face was sworn in.
Former Dekalb County Treasurer Christine Johnson was sworn into the State Senate today. Outgoing Senator Burzynski handed over the keys to his office and joked about how the picture outside his office was already taken down. He served the 35th district for more than two decades. Johnson says she looks forward to taking on the challenge of representing the Stateline in the Capitol.
