MOLINE, Ill. (AP) -- Fall's chilly temperatures are settling in across Illinois.

A freeze warning is in effect for much of northern Illinois Tuesday morning. And central parts of the state are under a frost advisory.

It's the first widespread freeze of the season and dozens of counties are expected to see temperatures drop into the upper 20s and low 30s.

Meanwhile, some portions of the Quad Cities and far northwestern Illinois could see minor snow accumulations.

The National Weather Service says one to two inches could fall, but likely won't stick except on grassy or elevated surfaces.
