ILLINIOIS (WIFR) -- Congresswoman Cheri Bustos is looking for ways to save taxpayer money. She introduced her first piece of legislation today, which would cut back on government redundancy.
The bill would create a bi-partisan panel of lawmakers in charge of reducing inefficiency. They'd draft their own set of proposals, which would face an up or down vote in congress.
Bustos did include a couple of caveats, for example, programs for veterans and seniors would not be on the table. Right now, she's looking for co-sponsors for her bill.
