ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Residents in one Rockford neighborhood got quite a jolt Tuesday afternoon after a car slammed into an apartment building.

Police say the driver reported a mechanical problem that caused him to lose control and hit the side of a basement unit at 4130 Laramie Lane. Fortunately, the driver and the two tenants inside weren't injured.
