ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Thousands of dollars’ worth of food will soon be on the tables of local families who wouldn't be able to afford it on their own.
More than 300 walkers took part in the CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday. So far the group has raised $37,000 but the group will take donations through the end of the year.
More than 45 religious and civic organizations took park in the walk around Rockford’s riverfront.
Last year the walk raised $52,000. Local food pantries got $13,000 of that amount.
