The Chicago Blackhawks are also bringing in extra business to Rockford. Owners of some sporting stores say the team's winning record has made up for half of their sales this season.
A Blackhawks win means big money for some Rockford businesses. 23 News caught up with the owner of GQ sports, who says Blackhawks gear has been flying off the shelves since the team landed in the playoffs.
"It's hard to keep it in stock, especially the pictures, you know the clothing's a little tricky to keep in stock right now with the t-shirts and sweatshirts and that but we do still have stock left," says Gary Larson.
Larson says that's made up of half of their sales recently, compared to the rest of the year when Blackhawk gear usually makes up about 5%.
People have bought hundreds of dollars worth of t-shirts, sweaters and pictures of the team.
Aside from grabbing gear, fans are also packing out local sports bars. One fan says the excitement of watching a winning team that keeps him hooked.
"I get hung up in this stuff, and it does get me nervous, I'm sure it gets most of us nervous. Boston's a very good team so we have two of the best teams I think playing," says Richard Stenlund.
Don't worry Blackhawks fans there's plenty of gear to go around. We're told stores like GQ Sports have shipments every couple of days to keep up with demand.
If the hawks win the Stanley Cup, local stores say they expect even more business.
