The emcees for the night are seniors Scott Wietrzykowski and Ely Trujillo.
. The 2014 Mr. Thunder will receive a $500 scholarship to his college; the runner-up will receive a $250 scholarship.
The scholarship program is sponsored by North’s Quill & Scroll International Honor Society for High School Journalists. It was established last year with these goals: “to recognize the accomplishments of the young men who are seniors at North by giving them scholarships for the furtherance of their education. It will show the good things these young men do and that they are doing an excellent job of preparing themselves for a responsible adult life in their community. The program will show that these young men are very involved in their school and community, and that they are enthusiastic and have their sights set on making positive achievements a personal objective.”
Funds from this event also benefit Quill & Scroll’s scholarships for BNHS students. The program has raised more than $12,000 since it began in 2009.
Tickets for the event are on sale at school for $5 apiece. Tickets will be available at the door.
