Beloit Police Investigate Homicide

On November 4, 2012, at about 11:22 a.m., Beloit Police Officers and Fire Department Paramedics responded to the 700 block of Merrill St. reference a shooting victim. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was
transported to the Beloit Hospital Emergency Room. The victim subsequently died during surgery.

Investigation shows the shooting occurred on the north side terrace on Merrill. The victim was found in a near-by yard. The victim and suspect had no association with the shooting location. The suspect and victim had been in two separate vehicles prior to the shooting.

The victim is identified as Ricky Sims Jr., B/M, 09/23/1993, of Chicago, IL.

The investigation into this incident has identified the suspect shooter as:
TEVON I. MARLEY
B/M, DOB 01/01/1984
of HARVEY, IL (lastknownaddress)

Tevon Marley is wanted for 1st Degree Intentional Homicide. He should be considered armed and dangerous. Marley is also a suspect in the April 5, 2012 Attempted Homicide that occurred
at 555 ½ W. Grand Av.
