BELOIT (WIFR)-- Beloit Memorial High School (BMHS) is welcoming all new and returning students, their families, those wanting details regarding Open Enrollment at BMHS, and everyone looking for more information on the Home of the Purple Knights to its annual EXPO and AP Family Night.
On Tuesday, January 29, from 5:30 to 7 pm, BMHS will hold the BMHS EXPO and AP Night..
This evening of information is designed to help make each student’s transition to Beloit Memorial – whether new to the school or getting ready for a new grade with more rigorous courses - a success. The annual Expo gives the opportunity to see, first hand, what is offered at Beloit Memorial High School. Staff will present details about curriculum, scheduling, course and program offerings, including information on the over 50 new courses that have been added to the course booklet over the last few years. Current students will also help provide more information as they give demonstrations of class lessons, and information on courses and clubs from their point of view.
Visitors will get to tour the Knight Spot Student Lounge, Cardio and Strength centers, as well as the Knight Zone school store in which Purple Knight apparel and snacks will be available for purchase. Entertainment will be provided by the Jazz Band, String and Ensemble Choir.
Also during the evening, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the school library, families can attend an AP Informational Session, a chance for families to explore Advanced Placement possibilities. Administrators and AP teachers will be on hand to provide information and answer questions about the 22 different AP classes that are offered at BMHS (Language and Composition, Literature and Composition, Statistics, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, U.S. History, Chemistry, Biology, Psychology, European History, Human Geography, Physics, Environmental Science, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Government, Spanish, Drawing, Music Theory, Studio Art Drawing, Studio Art 2D, Studio Art 3D, and French). Parents can learn how students not only have access to the post-secondary experience, but also are eligible to earn college credits while still in high school.
BMHS staff especially encourage incoming students and families to attend this important and informative event as they look forward to welcoming each student into the Purple Knight Family. BMHS is located at 1225 Fourth Street, Beloit.
