JANESVILLE (WIFR) -- A Beloit man is in trouble again for allegedly driving under the influence, after he is arrested for his seventh OWI offense.
Early Monday morning a Janesville police officer was patrolling the area of North Pontiac Drive and St. George Place when he discovered a car crash. Police accuse Ronald E. Campbell Jr., 37, of driving drunk and crashing into an unoccupied parked vehicle while driving south bound on N. Pontiac Dr.
Police say Campbell initially submitted to a series of field sobriety tests but refused to finish telling the officer "I am drunk." The officer says there was a strong odor of booze coming from Campbell, he was unsteady on his feet, and slurred his speech. A preliminary breath test showed a result of .43 blood alcohol content but a blood test is pending. Campbell was not injured in the crash and He is currently in custody on the following charges.
