ROCKFORD (WIFR)-- Rockford Police continue to search for six men involved in a restaurant robbery.
Around 8:45 Monday night, police say the suspects entered a Popeyes Chicken restaurant at 3509 E. State St.
Police say at least three of the suspects had guns.
They forced a manager to the safe, took cash and left the scene in a full sized brown van.
Three customers were in the restaurant at the time of the robbery.
One person was forced to the ground, and taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
No one is in custody. If you have any information, call Rockford Area Crimestoppers at (815)963-7867.

WELL SAID CHUCK, BUT JUST REMEMBER THAT IF THE MANAGER WAS ARMED AND HAD TAKEN CARE OF BUSINESS, THE LAWYERS WOULD HAVE SEEN TO IT THAT HE WAS TURNED INTO THE CRIMINAL, INSTEAD OF BEING THE VICTIM!
i dont see why everybody is blaming the police on this subject, because with police suspensions and layoffs and a mayor and police chief that allows it they are the ones to blame. Maybe a combat proven military unit needs to be allowed to step in and work alongside the RPD. I for one would love to step to the plate and help out. And as for the writer that is blaming employers not hiring these thugs you are way off base there sir. These thugs made the decision early in life to rob and steal and shoot people instead of working for what they get, and thats what happens. Im in agrreance with chuck as well, let good law abiding citizens the right for concealed carry and 75% of these crimes wouldnt be happening.
Concealed carry people. If the manager had a gun he could of shot them all
