A special election to fill President Obama's former U.S. Senate seat will take place after all.

This means in November, we'll vote for the position twice. This comes after an Appeals Court ruled a special election should have been held instead of ousted Governor Rod Blagojevich giving the job to Roland Burris. We now will pick a senator to serve a regular six-year-term and another to serve between November and January. A federal judge is now sorting out who will appear on the special election ballot. And it appears candidates who qualify for the regular November election is who we'll see.
