The county fair for many is all about the carnival rides, the tractors and the food. But for the youngsters of Ogle County's Four H clubs, this is the show of the year.

More than 400 4-H’ers spent the school year preparing for this week. Many of them, like David Schuman, research and build projects. He wants to be an electrician so he built a working lightswitch. Of course, others learn to raise animals on the family farm. That's what Jordyn Strohman has done for 10 years now. This year she's showing off hogs, but she knows there's far more than pigs to see here.

"Well, I have pigs and cattle, and there's also sheep -- which I don't get to see very much because we don't have that on our farm -- and chickens and rabbits and goats, and I think those are alpacas over there."

Tonight's main attraction is the sheep show, and tomorrow the 4-H’ers display their cattle and goats. The Ogle County Fair and the 4-H shows last through Sunday night.
