It's called the seat belt convincer, students are strapped in at the top of the slide, an operator releases the carriage, gravity pulls the carriage forward, reaching about 5-to-7 miles per hour before impact.

The point is for a rider to gain respect for how important a seat belt is even during a low speed crash.

The two devices were donated to the Illinois State Police by State Farm Insurance. The Illinois State Police then travels the State of Illinois presenting it to high schools and other organizations.
