The toddler was initially treated for injured belived to be obtained after the child fell out of a crib, but further investigation proved the injuries occured over a period of several weeks.

My mom still had me in Daycare when I was ten. Never would she ever let me babysit at the age. I wouldn't let anyone babysit long or short periods of time.

Wha tshould be noted is that there are state subsidies that pay for child care for low income families (you can access them up to 185% of poverty- therer are no waiting lists)and there are regulated centers and family child care homes in Beloit- thsi tragedy should never have happened- however you should also realize that in repeated injury cases like this it is equally possible the injuries occured by the parent and not the sitter-the child may be innocent- the investigation will hopefully give us the full story.

10 yr old kids should still HAVE a babysitter - not BE a babysitter! I think 12 is the youngest that should babysit but 14 or older is better.

Also I would like to add, That BOTH Sets of parents should be Arrested for this incident as the 4 parents had in their way Allowed this awful thing to happen!! Now Both Children will suffer because of this! This very Immature act on the part of Both sets of parents had permanently damaged these 2 babies forever! Children always are supposed to come first in a parents life, & now what happens when parents commit such a stupid & selfish act? The 2 Children are both Victims in their own way in this case! I'am on the side of BOTH Children, Not their parents!!

Who in their right mind would leave their small child with a 10 yr old? I think the parents should be charged somehow as well. There is NO WAY I would leave my kids with a 10 yr old. I would even be cautious leaving them with a 15 yr old.

I'am the proud father of a 10 yr old son, & I would'nt ever trust a 10 yr old to watch my 2 youngest sons, Let alone some ADULTS I could name!! My God! This is'nt the sixties anymore! Adults need ta grow up & Realize these are not good times in this day & age! Let these poor kids enjoy their childhood, & Not assume the responsibilities of their parents!

Isn't there a law that requires babysitters to be a certain age??? According to this story, the injuries were sustained over time, well hello, the parents didn't notice these injuries? and to hold a 10 year old liable?

A not only is a 23 month old going to have to recover but, a 10 year old child will now have their life ruined because a parent thought a child of 10 was a responsible babysitter? 10 year olds need a babysitter themselves and caring for a toddler is hard enough for trained adults let alone a 10 yera old.I want to hear that the oarents who hired a 10 ear old to watch their child are getting charged with something also. Not only has their decision hurt their child but has damaged the 10 year old also!!!
