The words "No School" is the only talk coming from the Harlem School District. School has been cancelled for Monday, August 30, 2004.
Sunday is the first day that the two sides did not meet face to face like they have this past week. Saturday night, the teachers unions had offered to meet with the school board on Sunday to discuss an alternative option that would decelerate the teachers pay package.
The School Board refused to meet Sunday, but as of Sunday night, the board issued a statement saying they are willing to discuss a change in the teachers salaries.
As of late Sunday night, a further negotiation session had not been set.
