Flood Workshops

ROCKFORD, Ill — Workshops on building techniques to make homes more resistant to storms and flooding will be held Sept. 13 – 22 in Freeport and Rockford.

The workshops are sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency
(FEMA) in cooperation with local businesses, building supply centers and relief agencies.

“These workshops, led by FEMA mitigation experts, will discuss the critical areas of storm and flood hazards,” said Federal Coordinating Officer Tony Russell. “Everyone is invited and we urge everyone to attend, including homeowners, building contractors and architects.”

Workshops will be held according to the following schedule:

Sept. 13-14, 2007
8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Sept. 13-14, 2007
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sept. 13-15
8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
