Bivins Runs For Senate

Today in Freeport, Tim Bivins announces his intentions to run for the 45th district seat currently held by the retiring Todd Sieben.

The Republican from Dixon has spent 32 years in law enforcement.

The last 20 as Lee County Sherriff. Meantime State Senator Brad Burzynski announces today he will seek re-election in 2008.

The Republican from Sycamore has held the 35th district seat since 1993.

    Mr. Bivins would be a much better Republican candidate than John Blum current Stephenson County Board Chairman. Unlike Mr. Blum, Mr. Bivins has never had an an order of protection placed against him by a woman who isn't his wife (Stephenson County 1995F169). As far as this Republican goes, character does matter and Mr. Blums track record makes it appear as if he is lacking in this area. I'm planning on voting for Bivins over Blum in the primary and hope character matters to my other fellow Republicans.
