Some relief for unemployed Stephenson and Winnebago County flood victims could be coming their way.
Governor Blagojevich has announced a disaster unemployment assistant plan for workers affected by the floods. This means residents that lost their jobs after the flooding and are denied regular unemployment insurance benefits might be eligible for federal assistance.
They have 30 days to apply at the department of employment security office in Freeport on 1826 South West Ave. (815)232-7171 or at Rockford's office on 3134 11th Street (815)395-6600.
