Plane Crash

CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. (AP) -- Authorities say two men died in a small plane crash today in the northwest suburb of Crystal Lake.

The single-engine aircraft had just taken off from Lake In The Hills Airport when it crashed at about two p.m.

Officials say the plane went down in a wooded area near Ackman and Randall roads. McHenry County officials say the land is owned by the county conservation district.

Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are at the crash site.

The identities of the victims have not been released.

(Crystal Lake is 50 miles northwest of Chicago.)
