Car Safety For Kids

Today State Police took it upon themselves to show parents how to keep their kids safe by offering a free child safety seat event at the Belvidere Oasis on I-90.

A certified technician was on hand to check safety seats and show parents exactly what they're doing right and wrong.

Illinois law says all children under eight must be properly secured and the best place for them is in a booster or car seat in the back of the car. Also children under the age of one, should be rear facing for proper protection.
