Rockford Superintendent Update

That's because he's taking another Superintendent job in Naples, Florida. The Collier County School Board there has just approved a contract deal worth $240,000 a year for Thompson.

Meanwhile, an emergency meeting has been called for the Rockford School Board tomorrow. Right now, Linda Hernandez is the acting Superintendent. The question now is how to move forward without Thompson?

I believe that when you have a contract, you should fulfil that contract and then move on. He has implemented good projects, I hate to see him go. But then again, let him go. We can continue what we have been doing and hire someone that has more of a commitment to our city.

I hope the school board has learned a lesson from this fiasco with Dr. Thompson. Why not consider hiring someone who lives and has an investment in the community, and who knows the school system? There is a lot of talent in this town. Why doe the school board always feel it has to look elsewhere?

Why all the noise and hoopla about Super Thompson wanting to leave Rockfor? If he has no loyalty, and why should he, except to a dollar I say goodbye, good riddance.
