Company officials said yesterday that the ram air turbine is the seventh system Sundstrand has won for the fuel-efficient plane.
They say all the contracts are worth more than $6 billion. The mid-sized 7E7 Dreamliner, which seats about 250, is due to enter service in 2008.
Chicago-based Boeing says the plane will use 20 percent less fuel than existing, similar-sized aircraft. The plane has more efficient engines and its structure has lightweight composite materials.
