The "Potato Drop" will take place at Belvidere United Methodist Church. Those who need help can drive through, and a 10 pound bag of potatoes will be given to them at no cost!
The potatoes were donated by a Wisconsin potato grower, and will also be distributed to area food banks, soup kitchens, shelters, church food pantries, and other agencies that feed the hungry.
This event is sponsored by the Rockford District United Methodist Men.

It was a pleasure to help bridge the gap for our area. 42,000 lb of potatoes helped feed people in need right away. We would like to thank "Gary" from Landstar who without him and his truck this would not have been possible. Also thanks to Wade Mayes with Society of St. Andrew who without the Meals for Millions program these potatoes would have not been available and may have ended up in some landfill. The Men of the Rockford District United Methodist Church contributed over $10,000 to the society last year and pledged to exceed that this year. Your next opportunity to help is April 18th. The Harmony for Hunger Concert featuring 3 Well Known Acepella Groups performing at the Rockton Performing Arts Center from 6-8PM Tickets are only $5.00. For more information contact Beth Eden United Methodist Church. Help us help you fight hunger in the world.
