The law would require police officers to use their lights and sirens when speeding on an official call.
In 2006, Aaron and DJ Bachman were killed when Deputy Boomer struck their car while allegedly speeding with no lights or sirens. Their sister Kori who was driving, suffered permanent brain damage.
Since then, Deputy Boomer has been acquitted of reckless homicide. A settlement was also made for Aaron and Kori. A lawsuit over DJ is still pending.
The bill now moves to the full house.
