Rockford Police are investigating a multi-car crash at Mulford and Spring Creek.
UPDATE*
Authorities say 79-year-old Ralph Hutson of Rockford was the man killed at the intersection of Spring creek and Mulford just before two this afternoon. Police say he was in the left turn lane on Mulford when he was struck by another car heading East on Spring Creek. Three people inside that car were taken to Swedish American Hospital. Witnesses described it as a scary situation.
"My car shook as the gold car went flying past me. So it was a little scary because if he was about 5 feet over it probaly would have been me laying there instead of that poor guy." said Tanya Homeke a witness to this afternoon's accident.

The Person who caused this accident deserves whatever punishment they get. To my family it will probably not be enough because it will not bring back our loved one. Our family has lost 2 family members in 3 weeks. This should of never happened to Uncle Ralph. Shame on those who drive reckless. What if it was your family? Just remember that you curse those who drive too slow but you drive too fast to get no where. Life is too short and that person has taken our family member away
every one needs to slow down and drive more careful. You never know when this could happen to you.Becuse of someone in a hurry our family has lost a wonderful father and Grandfather.Which we will never get back.
I drive thru this intersection twice a day for work. People are constantly running red lights. This goes on at every stop light. People are out of control. In a big hurry. Very scary.
