More Black Wisconsinites Have High School, College Degrees

Seventy-six percent of African Americans 25 and older have completed high school. A decade earlier, 56-percent of adult blacks had high school diplomas.

As for college, nearly 13 percent of African Americans 25 and older completed college. A decade ago that figure was 7.6-percent for adults.

Still, the latest figure is below the national average for blacks, which is 17-percent.

Overall, Wisconsin is slightly above average on the percentage of adults with high school diplomas, but it's slightly below the average on the number of adults with college degrees.
