Helping U.S. troops in Iraq is the mission of a beauty school in Beloit. It's dubbed Mission: Makeover.
Saturday, 30 students at the First Cosmetology School on State Street gave makeovers to five people. The community had a chance to come out and watch the transformations and give monetary donations and supplies to be sent to soldiers in Iraq.
The school puts on the event each year, but this is the first time it's been used as a benefit for U.S. troops. About $500 was raised in additional to boxes of food and toiletries. The donations will be distributed to U.S. troops by the Stars and Stripes Organization.
