More than six million jobs have been lost during the recession.. and typically only 75 percent of them will return. In Tonight's Economy Rockford report a local expert details the new realities of the working world and what's at stake for both employees and companies.
23 News Job Expert LoRayne Logan says hiring is slowly starting to pick up locally. But when jobs do come back, many companies will be looking for temporary workers.
Logan says employers are seeking cost savings and less risk within their workforce. This means bosses will hire for the short term before adding full time employees.
Logan say job seekers will have to be more flexible and willing to take short term gigs or even relocate to where there are more jobs.
"I think people are very worried about the unemployment insurance rates. I think they are very worried about pending legislation I think they are very cautious. I am not predicting this but usually after a recession typically staffing companies grow at a faster rate than regular employers so its not in any ones best interest to eliminate us from ones job search."

Its about time workers wake up and realize how the workplace should be. The younger generation has seemed to lost the work ethic their parents had. It is sad.
