Authorities in Jo Daviess County want to bury a woman who died 10 years ago.

Jo Daviess State's Attorney filed a petition asking a judge to decide where to bury Mary Albaum.

Authorities discovered her corpse Aug. 9 in a basement while trying to serve an eviction notice to her in Elizabeth.

According to a death certificate, Albaum was 97 years old when she died in 1992.

Albaum's body was donated to science, after her son retrieved the remains but never buried her.

A hearing is set for Friday.
