For the last 10 years, Ronald Reagan has been battling Alzheimer's. He was diagnosed with the disease in November of 1994.
Many praised him for his courage in speaking out. His wife and former first lady Nancy Reagan started making public service announcements on behalf of Alzheimer's groups.
The Rockford Alzheimer's Association says they admired his passion to raise awareness saying he put a face with a disease.
A donation can be made to local Alzheimer's organizations as a way to remember Ronald Reagan.
