From the Winnebago County Health Department:
As guests come and go during the holidays, so do viruses. One weapon to fight bugs like influenza is vaccination. Though the holidays are nearly over, flu season is unpredictable and additional waves of illness are likely to continue through May.
The Winnebago County Health Department is committed to providing vaccinations to the general population. The Health Department is now allowing anyone who wishes to be inoculated to receive the 2009 H1N1 vaccine.
Appointments are now available for all Winnebago County residents and must be made through the appointment line by calling 1-800-649-2381. Residents may call this number 24 hours a day to reserve their vaccination time.
All forms of the vaccine, including a limited supply of the nasal spray, will be made available at these sites. If your child is age 9 or younger and received their first dose before Dec. 8, they may receive their second dose.
