Rockford's Road Referendum

Rockford's roads are still in need of major repairs and the deadline is fast approaching for the governor's signature to speed those repairs along. A measure, to allow the city to collect on the voter approved sales tax hike early went to the governor's desk nearly a month ago.

If he signs it by Friday, the city would collect funds starting July 1st and work on our roads would start this summer. However, no signature and the city can't start collecting until January, postponing road work until next summer.
