"It's so loud in there you really can't hear so you're like I think they called my name but they show you a card so you're just so excited I'm excited I'm apart of the show I'm apart of history," says Denise LeVeque.

"They called my wife's name to go up there and you're in total disbelief no that didn't happen," says Loren LeVeque.

A lifetime of playing the Price is Right from the couch, pays off in the real thing. Denise and Loren LeVeque flew out to L.A. For a chance to compete during Bob Barker's final taping of the Price is Right. And they came home with much more than game show souvenirs.

"Everything happened so fast after that prizes and things and spinning wheels," Denise says.

Denise matched the prices of a 52 inch flat screen TV, Corvette and won a thousand bucks in the "Showcase Showdown." But it gets even better. She guessed right in the final round. And took home a 7-day cruise through the Mediterranean, grill and a Cadillac. The plethora of prizes are worth $140,000. However Uncle Sam takes 40-percent. The LeVeques don't mind. They're just thankful to be the last ones to "come on down" with Bob Barker.

They plan on selling their TV, Cadillac and Corvette. So if you're in the market you can e-mail them at lorenanddenise@ameritech.net. Their prizes officially arrive on September 15th.The show airs next Friday right here on WIFR at 10 o'clock.

File this one under "Unproven Conspiracy Theories". In a news release -- Global Warming Key Factor in Increase of Cat Population -- yesterday, Pets Across America President Kathy Warnick said global warming is thought to be a contributing factor to the dramatic increase of stray, owned and feral cats. Pets Across America, self-described in the release as "the largest umbrella organization for animal shelters serving more than 130 million people" also stated that cats outnumber dogs by 13.5 million and that the number is growing and that animal shelters across the United States are reporting skyrocketing influxes of cats and kittens being brought into their agencies. Most importantly, however, they used their news release to tell the world that "many believe global warming is extending cat-breeding seasons and causing the cat population to swell." I repeat their claim: "many believe global warming is...causing the cat population to swell!" WARNING: Below is where the conspiracy-theory angle, though still very much unproven, comes into play. Proceed at your own peril. After taking into account this earth-shattering news from Pets Across America, can you honestly believe it's a coincidence that this Kansas City, Mo.-based group chose to issue its news release only one week prior to the airing of Bob Barker's last episode of The Price is Right? No way! I suspect that Barker, arguably the world's most-visible advocate of spaying and neutering pets, opted to retire this year only after coming under immense pressure from a below-the-radar campaign by animal shelter advocate groups like Pets Across America. Their never-made-public argument: Barker's spaying and neutering advocacy was a flop, and we should have been concentrating on stopping Global Warming.
