Roe received the Champions for Change award at the Models for Change conference in Washington.
Roe earned the award due to his work in the Models for Change program.
Ogle County was one of just five counties in the state to take part in a program to come up with alternatives to jail time for juveniles.
The goal of the Models for Change program is to help discover the root cause of kids committing crimes, then working with those who are at most risk of getting into trouble with the law.
