“Gun Club” in Beloit, is one of the few remaining true Wisconsin Supper Clubs that you simply must experience!
Established in the 1930’s, by the Les Davis family, it was originally a target shooting organization known as the “Sportsman’s Club”. A lounge and kitchen were added, where you could feast on one of the best Friday Night Fish Fry’s in Wisconsin, for only 50¢ (tartar sauce & lemon were each 10¢ extra).
It eventually evolved into its current incarnation… a restaurant & night club filled with life & tradition. From the finest Black Angus Steaks and the freshest Seafood, to the Famous Ice Cream drinks, and legendary LIVE Entertainment, “Gun Club” never disappoints.
Almost every employee enjoys a rich history with “Gun Club”. Jackie has waited on 20 years of fine diners. Karen has served up 15 years of Grasshoppers & Brandy Alexander’s. Maxine and the Trio have performed for 20 years of patrons. Even Head Chef Tim Matrick, and Chef Bruce Jones have over 15 years together in the ‘GC’ kitchen. They insist on the BEST. Nothing is pre-packaged. Everything is made from scratch. From the salad dressings & dips, to the famous Gun Club Bread Pudding with Bourbon Sauce, they do not skimp on anything.
That brings us to Cynthia & Frank Dajka. Regular patrons for 20 years, their passion for “Gun Club” swelled, when they purchased it in January 2002. The transition was seamless, thanks to the Dajka’s firm belief of not fixing what isn’t broken. They’ve only made it better, by adding a Thursday Night Blues Night, upgrading the Wine List, and slowly updating some of the interior. They love this place, and that love is very infectious.
