More than 1 million people in Illinois ages 18 to 64 do not have health care coverage and right now the American Association For Retired Persons or AARP is fighting for a change.
Rockford members hit the streets today with the message, real people with real health care problems need a real solution.
They stopped at Senator Dave Syverson and Representative Chuck Jefferson's office dropping off a basket of apples saying it takes more then an apple a day to keep the doctor away and create a healthy Illinois.
AARP members are urging legislators to pass the Illinois Covered Plan which would cover people of all age groups.
