Terry Morris and his attorney Richard Rice have filed a notice of appeal. Rice says Morris shouldn't have been fired and that part of the decision was biased.
Morris was fired by Tom Alisankus, an Evansville municipal judge hired by the Orfordville village board to review allegations against the former chief.
The 22 allegations against Morris include putting up gambling machines in a family-run convenient store, mishandling evidence and swearing on duty.
Orfordville is down to one police officer after Morris' firing, and the Rock County Sheriff's Department is picking up the slack. The village board is talking about setting up a police commission, which could handle disciplinary issues.
