UNDATED (AP) -- Police agencies around Wisconsin are stepping up seat belt enforcement beginning today as part of a national campaign called "Click it or Ticket."
The state Department of Transportation says this year's program will be one of the largest coordinated law enforcement mobilizations ever in Wisconsin.
Officers from all over the state will be patrolling in greater numbers and for longer hours to get more motorists to buckle up.
Wisconsin has a secondary enforcement seat belt law, which means a driver can be ticketed only if he or she is stopped for some other violation.
Fines for failing to buckle up range from ten to 25 dollars.
The campaign runs through June third.
