UNDATED (AP) -- April was a deadly month on state roads.
The state Department of Transportation says 63 people were killed in traffic crashes -- the deadliest month so far this year.
Sixteen more people lost their lives than the same month last year. The number of traffic deaths in April were six more than the five-year average.
Two-hundred-17 people have died on Wisconsin roadways already this year. That includes nine people on motorcycles, 17 pedestrians and one bicyclist.
