The body of Dorl Gates has been recovered more than a week after the 52-year-old Beloit man drowned while competing in a belly flop competition.
Gates body was discovered Monday night around 8:30 p.m. He was last seen on Saturday, April 24 when he jumped from the Beloit-Rock Townline Bridge into the Rock River as part of a "World Belly Flop Contest," sponsored by Diamond Jim’s Bar.
His body was located about one mile south from where he entered the river. At this time it looks like no criminal charges will be filed.
